The J.M. AUJOUX House

As a wine merchant, grower and even harvester on an estate acquired in 1926 in Viré, we are involved in the world of wine, from vine to glass.

Our skills

J.M. Aujoux, the specialist in Beaujolais-Mâconnais wines, shares with you the history of a house founded in 1938.

Located halfway between the Roche de Solutré, the birthplace of the famous Pouilly-Fuissé, and the no less famous Mont Brouilly, in the heart of the village of Fleurie, our house is bordered by one hectare of organically grown vines.

From his long experience, J.M. Aujoux has gained legitimacy and recognition in its region, in France and in the world, by presenting, for each vintage, the best of each Beaujolais and Mâconnais terroir while highlighting his position as owner, breeder and trader.

In 1996 J.M. Aujoux acquired the famous Jacques Dépagneux brand, thus becoming the sole owner of the 2.6 hectares of Viré-Clessé Clos du Chapitre, This Burgundian monopole, exclusively owned by the company, is the flagship of the estates sold by J.M. Aujoux.

On the other hand, since that date, the “Jacques Dépagneux” brand has been signing the most beautiful terroir wines and must highlight the most beautiful climates and cuvées of the Beaujolais and Mâconnais for each vintage.

Since 2000, J.M. Aujoux wines have been able to demonstrate their dynamism and to be a force of proposition for their customers by presenting wines from the Languedoc-Roussillon region with the same philosophy, the same sincerity and the same values of Pleasure, Generosity and Exigency.

Our story

Since 1938, as a Proprietor, Negociant and Breeder, we have been used to making and offering sincere wines.

Behind this sentence, which may seem very simple, is the hard work of men and women, an awareness of environmental issues and a considerable amount of work.

Our ambition with this desire for sincere wines is threefold.

First, it is about being sincere with our winemakers from Mâconnais and Beaujolais who we’ve been working for years or generations with. For J.M. Aujoux wines the notions of terroir, vintage and respect of the environment are as important as the quality of the human relations that unite us with the winemakers.

Secondly, it is a question of being a force of proposal, of accompanying and exchanging, of training, of adapting to the various environmental challenges. For J.M. Aujoux, this also means holding and mastering the various national and international certifications… But not only that, these efforts must be perceptible and understood by our consumers

Finally, the aim is to offer wines at prices suitable for everyone and for all occasions. We want to offer both :

Great Beaujolais and Mâconnais wines, Beaujolais Crus such as Moulin à Vent or Morgon Côte du Py or Burgundy Crus such as Viré-Clessé or Pouilly Fuissé, for enlightened amateurs in a beautiful gastronomic restaurant.

As well as nice fruity wines, generous with a beautiful expression of the Gamay Noir grape variety with white juice for the reds of Beaujolais, Beaujolais-Villages, Brouilly or of the Chardonnay grape variety for the whites of Mâconnais such as Mâcon-Villages, Saint-Véran, Mâcon-Loché for young adults for moments of conviviality and sharing after work in a relaxed setting.

J.M. Aujoux’s expertise guarantees you sincere wines with distinct values of Pleasure, Generosity and Exigency.
